Winter Guide (Season 2026-2027)

Ruka Safaris which is proud member of Lapland Boutique Resorts is looking for enthusiastic and energetic Winter Guides to join our team for the 2026–2027 season.

At Ruka Safaris in Ruka, a guide is more than just a host – they are the heart of every guest experience. Our guides are naturally social, approachable, and passionate about creating unforgettable moments in the Arctic wilderness.

A great Ruka Safaris guide is confident and self-aware, understanding both their strengths and their limits. They remain calm and composed in all conditions – from freezing winter temperatures to unexpected challenges with guests. The ability to adapt quickly, solve problems creatively, and ensure guests remain comfortable and unaware of any issues is a true mark of excellence.

Common sense and strong wilderness skills are highly valued, while leadership is essential in guiding groups safely and professionally. Our guides take responsibility, inspire trust, and create a sense of security for every guest.

Key requirements include a valid driving licence (Category B), strong communication skills in English (additional languages are a significant advantage). A genuine passion for outdoor activities, solid first aid skills, and the ability to perform under pressure are all crucial.

While every guide brings their own personality and style, professionalism in every situation is non-negotiable at Ruka Safaris.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Guide guests on excursions such as snowmobiling, fatbiking, icefishing, and snowshoeing
  • Provide clear safety instructions and ensure high safety standards at all times
  • Deliver excellent customer service and create a welcoming atmosphere
  • Share knowledge about the local environment, wildlife, and culture
  • Assist with daily operations and equipment preparation

What We’re Looking For:

  • Positive, flexible, and team-oriented attitude
  • Strong communication skills and good level of English
  • Interest in outdoor activities and working in cold conditions
  • Previous guiding or customer service experience is a plus
  • Valid driver’s license (snowmobile experience is an advantage)
  • First aid certificates & hygiene pass

What We Offer:

  • A unique opportunity to work in a stunning Arctic environment
  • A supportive and international team
  • Staff accommodation possibilities and competitive seasonal package
  • Training and development opportunities
