Are you an adventure enthusiast with a deep passion for the great outdoors? Do you possess excellent outdoor leadership skills and a love for sharing your knowledge with others? If so, Ruka Safaris invites you to join our team as a Wilderness Guide in the breathtaking Ruka Kuusamo region. 

Responsibilities:

As a Wilderness Guide at Ruka Safaris, you will have the opportunity to lead guided tours and excursions into the wilderness of Ruka Kuusamo. You will be working in a experienced team of guides.

Your key responsibilities will include: 

• Leading groups of guests on hiking and snowmobiling trips, providing guidance, and ensuring their safety throughout the journey.
• Sharing your extensive knowledge of the local flora, fauna, and natural landmarks to enrich the guests’ experience.
• Demonstrating expertise in wilderness survival skills, first aid, and navigation to ensure preparedness for any situation.
• Promoting environmental conservation and Leave No Trace principles to protect and preserve the natural environment.  

Requirements: 

• Proven experience as a Wilderness Guide or a similar role in leading outdoor adventures.
• Strong outdoor leadership skills with the ability to handle groups of various sizes and demographics.
• Knowledge of the Ruka Kuusamo region, including its geography, wildlife, and cultural aspects.
• Communication skills in English and interpersonal skills to engage with guests and create memorable experiences.
• Current certifications in Wilderness First Aid and any other relevant outdoor qualifications are preferred.
• Commitment to environmental stewardship and sustainable tourism practices.
