We are looking for an experienced and hands-on Operations Lead to oversee and develop our daily operations in Ruka. This is a key leadership position for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment and enjoys coordinating people, processes, and guest experiences.

About the Role

As Operations Lead, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient execution of all operational activities. You will work closely with the sales team, guides, transport providers, and local partners to deliver exceptional experiences while maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and efficiency.

You will act as the link between planning and execution, ensuring that all operational processes are followed and continuously improved.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Leadership

• Oversee and coordinate daily operations across all Ruka Safaris activities.
• Ensure smooth communication and collaboration between sales, operations, guides lead, and other teams
• Monitor operational performance and proactively resolve bottlenecks and challenges.
• Ensure all services are delivered according to company standards and guest expectations.

Team Coordination

• Lead and support the operational team, guides, drivers, and seasonal staff.
• Coordinate staffing requirements and resource allocation.
• Maintain clear information flow between departments and external partners.
• Foster a positive, solution-oriented working culture.

Safety & Compliance

• Take ownership of operational safety procedures and documentation.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, local regulations, and industry standards.
• Work closely with safety and quality teams across Lapland Boutique Resorts.

Sales Support & Yield Management

• Monitor bookings, capacity, and availability to optimize operational efficiency.
• Support pricing and yield management initiatives.
• Contribute operational insights to improve profitability and guest satisfaction.

Process Improvement & Cost Control

• Analyse operational performance data and identify improvement opportunities.
• Control operational costs while maintaining service quality.
• Develop and implement more efficient workflows and procedures.
• Participate in budgeting and forecasting processes.
  

Partner Relations

• Build and maintain strong relationships with local suppliers and partners.
• Ensure reliable service delivery from external providers.
• Represent Ruka Safaris within the local tourism network.
  

What We Are Looking For

• Proven experience in operations management, tourism, hospitality, DMC, or adventure travel.
• Strong leadership and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
• Experience working with guides, activities, transportation, or destination operations is considered a strong advantage.
• Commercial mindset with an understanding of operational efficiency and profitability.
• Fluent English; Finnish is an advantage.
• Experience with booking systems and operational planning tools is beneficial.
